  Basically a rite-of-passage for many SOU students, the Ashlanders are one of the most well-known apartment complexes in the area.
  
  Lots of people seem to take issue with the place, but I never experienced many negative things when I was living here. Even though lots of college students live in the buildings, it's generally fairly quiet. One of the owners operates as the groundskeeper and seems at a glance to have a bad attitude, but was a fairly friendly guy the few times I interacted with him for more than a few seconds. The grounds are generally kept quite clean and the on-site laundromat is large and well-maintained. Some people have reported theft of clothing from the laundromat but I never experienced this myself.
  
  The front staff, aside from the other owner who is quite friendly, tend to be a little bit helpless but are most unoffensive.
  
  They are well-located, especially if you own a bicycle.
  
  I moved out primarily due to finding a larger living space with several roommates, and not due to any issue with the apartments themselves.
